Motortorque Automotive Night Of Thunder @ Grafton Speedway

The FM 104.7 Grafton Speedway plays host to V8 Dirt Modifieds this Saturday night (Nov 7) as part of the Motortorque Automotive Night of Thunder. A field of 17 V8 Dirt Modifieds has nominated for the event, the first of four appearances by V8 Dirt Modifieds at the Grafton venue this season.

After last weekends race of attrition at the Bartercard Lismore Speedway, drivers will be no doubt looking to redeem themselves after just 3 of 15 runners finished the Neumann Petroleum Silver Sash.

Winner of last weekends Feature, Stuart Herne, is heading to Grafton in search of his second win in as many race meetings aboard the Farmer Charlies Chev. Herne dominated the latter part of last weekends Feature after the unfortunate retirement of many of the more fancied runners.

One driver heading to Grafton with a point to prove is Wayne Reynolds. The Brunswick Valley Coaches driver was in fine form last weekend and had established a commanding lead mid way through the Feature only to suffer suspension failure. Reynolds won the opening V8 Dirt Modified Feature at Grafton last season.

The surprise packed from last weekends Silver Sash and a nomination again this weekend is Singleton driver Tony Sneddon. Left without a home track after the demise of the Newcastle Speedway, Sneddon made the long haul north and was the early race leader in last weekends Feature. In fact, Sneddon was leading the field by a country mile until an overheating problem forced him infield, handing the race lead to Reynolds. Under the watchful eye of engine guru Dave Brien, Sneddon is certainly a chance to finish off what he started last weekend.

The list of contenders for the Feature win doesn’t end there. Throw in local hot shots Shawn Mortimer, Aaron Suffolk & new Gold Coast resident Simon Jupe, along with QLD hopefuls David Rodgie & brothers Audie & Shane Malt picking a winner is not an easy task.

Missing from the field is Valvoline driver Mark Robinson, who damaged an engine on a recent practice night. The Robinson camp hope to be back on track by November 16 in Brisbane.

Racing gets under way at 6.30pm.
