Bink takes out the NSW Street Stock Track Championship in style:

By: Bink Motorsport

Tim Bink recently completed a dream run though the NSW Street Stock Track Championship by dominating the season 2004/05 point score where he has claimed a nine out of 14 feature races aboard his # 8 EFI Spares / Deal Quip Newcastle EA Falcon.

In a truly remarkable season long run of form, Bink visited the winners circle on a regular basis and when he wasn’t winning, the 25-year-old was somewhere within the top three place getters. At the completion of the track championship Bink won comfortably ahead of his good mate and neighbour Shane Carlson who placed in a well deserved second.

“It has been a wonderful season and it’s hard to explain how I am feeling other than relieved,” expressed Bink. “After finishing second in last season’s track championship behind Shane Duggan, I had the aim of going one better and to achieve that goal is wonderful.”

Although on paper it may look as though he had it easy, Bink says that is far from the truth as far as he is concerned.

“To some it might have looked easy out there but I can assure that it wasn’t,” he said. “Maintaining a front running car in any divisions is never a walk in the park, it requires a lot of hours between race meetings working on the car to keep it at the front.”

Another aspect that Bink has undergone a complete change from last season has been his attitude.

“This season I have been going into each race meeting with the confidence knowing that I have what it takes to win,” Bink explained. “I am a lot calmer these days, and I have been able to keep a cool head under pressure and that has shown in my results this season.”

Out of his nine feature races wins this season, Bink rates his win in the penultimate round of the track championship at Parramatta City Raceway, which saw him clinch the championship with one round to spare.

“That win in the penultimate round was very rewarding, and it also clinched the track championship for me too,” said Bink. “In that race I started from the back and worked my way to the front and ended up winning in one of the most exciting races of the season, which was very satisfying.”

For the second year running Bink has lucked out at the Australian Title which was held at Wagga International Raceway after running in the front pack only to crash out of the final.

“I seem to never have any luck at the National Titles, which is really disappointing,” admitted Bink. “It’s just been a matter of unlucky circumstances that have ruined my hopes of a strong finish and it is a goal of mine that still burns deep inside,”

As for next season the plans are yet to be decided for the Bink Motorsport camp.

‘There are a few avenues that I am currently considering for next season but nothing has been confirmed at this stage,” confessed Bink.

Bink would like to say a big special thank you to the entire Bink Motorsport team and says that he couldn’t have done it without their assistance and support throughout this season.
