JUNE

SURFAIR SPEEDWAY is on again this Sunday starting at 10am with what promises to be the biggest program of open wheel action and sedan racing seen at any speedway.
The big question is, Does size matter?, ask any of the 25 Speedway Kart drivers that will be racing and they will say no as they are quicker, handle better and can get through tight spots better than the bigger ones.
SUPERMODIFIEDS. These are the big ones in the open wheeled division, throbbing with v8 power as they try to satisfy their need for speed and there are 15 of these winged beasts entered for Sundays racing.
VINTAGE SPEEDCARS.These are the crowd thrillers from the 50s and 60s and they look and go like they did when they raced all over AUSTRALIA and the crowds loved them.
COMMODORE STREET STOCKS, these have to be the best looking speedway sedans seen on any track and they go quick as well.
FENDER BENDERS, as the name implies these cars get some rough treatment during racing and pushing the opposition off the track or rolling them over is allowed in this division.
SUPER PRODUCTION SEDANS, 1600cc SEDANS, SERIES SEDANS and LADIES, all these divisions will be racing and will provide plenty of action.
But wait ,theres more. is big better? Darren Saylard thinks so as he has a brand new Sprintcar with a 410 cubic inch engine and he will be out to break all track records with this throbbing great winged beast and will be worth watching as he scorches his way round the circuit.
Dont forget Sunday at SURFAIR SPEEDWAY starting at 10 am.

This SATURDAY at 4pm the place to be is SURFAIR SPEEDWAY MORUYA where the action is always fast and furious at this famous circuit.
A full program of sedan and bike events will keep you on your toes as the hard driving and daredevil riding always provides some thrills and spills as they all want to win their division of dirt track racing.
SUPER PRODUCTION SEDAN driver MICK KING is out to win this division and make up for his defeat at the last meeting by IAN GRIFFITH in the v6 datsun but there are plenty of quick drivers in this class and it could be any one of them that wins and as for the cars well just take your pick, v8s,v6s,rotarys or straight sixes they are all there and the racing will be very fast and action packed.
BIKES. The list of skilled riders includesDANIEL LINEHAM, CODY SAMPSON, BEN GORDON and NATHAN JOHNSTON just to name a few of the very quick riders that will have you on your toes in the two wheeled events.
SERIES SEDAN driver LARRY PARKER has been working hard on his car and could be one to watch in that division.
1500 SEDANS, LADIES RACES, STREET STOCKS and JUNIOR HOTSHOTS will also be racing and there will be plenty of action in all divisions so dont miss out, be at
SURFAIR SPEEDWAY  MORUYA  saturday 22/2 starting at 4pm.

This SATURDAY the big question is , who will win the big demolition derby at SURFAIR SPEEDWAY, will it be one of the boys from BEGA or NOWRA or somewhere in between as there are quite a few entrants for this event and it will be fun to watch.
SUPER PRODUCTION ACE  MICK KING will have his hands full this meeting as some very quick cars from bega are going to try very hard to beat MICK in this very competitive division.
G.P. MIDGETS will be there in force and will provide plenty of wheel to wheel action and plenty of excitement as they scream around the circuit.
BIKES will be on the flat track only and some of the passing manouvers the riders make will have you on the edge of your seat saying " will he make it '' and to find out if he did make it go to SURFAIR and watch the action.
Plenty of sedan events and then to top it off the demolition derby.
Come and have fun in the dirt with us at SURFAIR SPEEDWAY MORUYA this SATURDAY starts at 3pm

SAT 28th DECEMBER

SURFAIR SPEEDWAY at MORUYA on SAT 28th DECEMBER and its DEMO DERBY time again and the smashem and crashem boys will provide plenty of action as they turn going cars into steam spouting wrecks that are a lot shorter at the end of this popular event than when they started, its incredible the damage some of these cars take and still keep going, but there will only be one winner and thats the last car going and he gets all the prizemoney.
Also on the program will be the G.P. MIDGETS and these flying machines will show real open wheel action as they scorch their way round the circuit with wheels spinning and dirt flying, very impressive racing from this division.
BIKES not pushbikes but very quick motorbikes will also be on the program and the riding styles of some of the riders has me green with envy or is it that i dont like pain, when you see the way they throw caution to the wind when racing  you will understand what i mean.
SEDANS . plenty of sedan races on the program and some quick sedans from bega are coming to join in the fun so dont miss out on SURFAIR SPEEDWAY

NOVEMBER MEETING

SURFAIR SPEEDWAY PROMISED PLENTY OF ACTION FOR THEIR NOVEMBER MEETING AND IT WAS NOT AN IDLE BOAST AS THERE WERE 100 FOUR WHEEL COMPETITORS AND BIKES AS WELL.
SPECTACULAR DRIVING FROM THE FORMULA 500S AS THESE SMALL BUT POTENT MACHINES FLEW AROUND THE CIRCUIT PILOTED BY SOME OF THE BEST 500 DRIVERS EVER SEEN AT SURFAIR SPEEDWAY.
EVERY HEAT WAS A THRILLER AND FULL OF WHEEL RUBBING ACTION AS THREE OR FOUR MACHINES WOULD BE SIDE BY SIDE ROUND THE SWEEPER EACH ONE DETERMINED TO BE FIRST OUT OF THE CORNER AND NO ONE GIVING  AWAY ANY GROUND AT ALL IF THEY COULD HELP IT.
IT WAS GREAT DRIVING FROM ALL THE DRIVERS BUT AT THE END OF THE DAY THERE WAS ONLY ONE BIG WINNER AND THAT WAS CURRENT N.S.W.1 IAN BURROWS DRIVING THE NOKIA 27 CAR THAT TOOK HOME THE MAJOR POINTS IN THIS THE SECOND ROUND OF THE SERIES AND THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT THEY WILL BE BACK AT SURFAIR SPEEDWAY SOON.
STREET STOCKS NOWRA DIVISION.
THESE RACE CARS WOULD HAVE TO BE THE BEST PRESENTED GROUP OF CARS EVER SEEN AT SURFAIR AND WOULD NOT HAVE LOOKED OUT OF PLACE AT ORAN PARK  OR EASTERN CREEK AND WERE A CREDIT TO THEIR OWNERS, THE ONLY FAULT WAS THEY WERE ALL (shudder) COMMODORES, NOT MUCH JOY THERE FOR THE FORD FANS.
GOOD CLEAN DRIVING FROM THIS DIVISION BUT STILL QUICK AND IT WAS A VERY HAPPY DAVID FORD THAT WON THE FINAL DRIVING 55 OVER THE LINE AHEAD OF BRUCE LEVETT AND TERRY KERSHAW.
NOTE IT TOOK A FORD TO GET THE COMMODORE OVER THE LINE FIRST.
STREET STOCKS BOARD DIV.
WHAT THEY LACKED FOR IN APPEARENCE THEY DID NOT LACK IN THE VARIETY OF CARS RACING AND THERE WERE SOME VERY DETERMINED DRIVERS OUT THERE DOING ALL SORTS OF WILD MAMOUVERS TO TRY AND GET TO THE FRONT, NATHAN JOHNSTON DID A ROLLOVER IN THE MAIN STRAIGHT AND FINISHED UP ON HIS WHEELS, FIRED THE CAR INTO LIFE DID A COUPLE OF DOUGHNUTS THEN REJOINED THE RACE.
IN THE FINAL TIM JACOBSON DRIVING THE LIQUOR STOP SIGMA FROM BEGA NEVER STOPPED AT ALL ON HIS WAY TO THE CHEQUERED FLAG DESPITE THE VERY DETERMINED EFFORTS OF NATHAN JOHNSTON AND FRED SILKS TO BEAT
HIM TO THE FINISH LINE TIM WAS THE VICTOR.
SUPERMODIFIEDS
JOHN CHRISTIE THRILLED THE CROWD WITH HIS SEEMINGLY EFFORTLESS STYLE OF DRIVING AS HE THREW THE BIG  SPRINTCAR ROUND THE CIRCUIT WITH THE SOUND OF THE POWERPACKED BIG V8 ADDING TO THE EXCITEMENT AS HE PASSED THE OTHER COMPETITORS. TIM HAINES DRIVING THE UNDERTAKER A BIG FORD V8 POWERED MACHINE WAS ONE OF THE ONES PASSED BY CHRISTIE ON THE SWEEPER AND COULD NOT BELIEVE HOW QUICK THAT SPRINTCAR WENT.
NEEDLESS TO SAY JOHN CHRISTIE WON THE FINAL WITH STEVE HAINES AND GRAHAM SCOTT THE NEXT ACROSS THE LINE.
UNDER 1500cc SEDANS.
AS USUAL THESE EVENTS WERE VERY QUICK AND DESPITE THE EFFORTS OF ALL THE OTHER DRIVERS IT WAS RICHARD HERRING WHO WON THE FINAL IN NO UNCERTAIN MANNER FROM THE REST OF THE FIELD.
DENNIS RICHARDSON AND IAN GRIFFITH WHO FOLLOWED RICHARD ACROSS THE LINE RECKON THEY WILL HAVE TO PULL AT LEAST TWO PLUG LEADS OFF RICHARDS CAR SO THEY CAN CATCH HIM.

SURFAIR SPEEDWAY MORUYA.
More about the november meeting which was the biggest this year and was dirt track racing at its best.
SERIES SEDANS.
As usual the drivers in this division really turned the action on and there were many heated bits of driving in every heat but in the final it was CARL YENNE who took the chequred flag in front of GARY TARGET with MICHEAI ROSEVEAR in third place.
SUPER PRODUCTION SEDANS.
Throughout the day the racing in this class was very quick and great to watch and the final was no exception with all the drivers wanting to win, MICK KING and MICK SILK both drove hard at the front of the pack and veteran driver JEFF MURPHY was right on their heels waiting for them to make a mistake so he could slip through to the front, KINGY was really under pressure from SILK  but held a good line to the chequred flag with a well deserved second to SILK and MURPHY  home third.
G.P. MIDGETS.
These flying machines loved the circuit at SURFAIR and put up some very quick times in their heats throughout the day and in their final it was no surprise to see JUSTIN COULTON in first place , second went to JASON GOODWIN and third was ANDREW STEVENS.
JUNIOR HOTSHOTS.
These are the drivers that will join the ranks of sedans when they become old enough as you have to be eighteen to race in the speedway divisions.
The way the junior drivers are going they will really make their presence felt when they get old enough to step up to the other classes.
The three quickest on the day were the first across the line in the final and in first place was NAT WHITE with JOSH TYRELL in second and DANIEL GREEN in third.
LADIES RACES.
Very hard driving in the final saw a tangle up of DONNA BLUEIT, LISA WILLIAMS and HELEN MCDERMOTT as they battled for the lead this allowed CHAKINTA JONES to take out the chequred flag and wasnt she a very happy lady.
BIKES.
On the day the three quickest riders that were so good to watch were BEN GORDON on 43, MORGAN FITZGERALD on 8 and DANIEL LINGHAM on K.T.M.43.
SURFAIR SPEEDWAYS next meeting will be po the 28th DECEMBER and it will be a real rip snorter of a meeting with the LITRE SPRINTCARS in all their glory plus many other action packed events .

MARCH

SURFAIR SPEEDWAY promised plenty of action for their meeting on 22nd march and they were right as the FORMULA 500 N.S.W. TITLE was the main feature on the program and all the best of the 500 pilots were there to try and take home the title.
Every heat was a thriller and the high speed wheel to wheel action was great to watch and it really was show no mercy racing.
A very quickPHILLIP WOODBURY in number 5 tried to climb the wall in the main straight in the third heat but got hung up instead with a few bent pieces on his machine that wernt there before, frantic work by his pit crew had the machine ready for the final.
Fiery driving was the order of the day and a fierce battle developed for the lead with MICHAEL BAXTER and IAN BURROWS having a battle royal until IAN pulled off a brilliant pass to take the lead and tha chequered flag with BAXTER second and third went to PHILLIP WOODBURY who carved his way through the field with a show no fear style of driving, it was a great race.
DIRT TRACK KARTS.
This was their first time at SURFAIR SPEEDWAY and a good field turned up to show just how quick you can go with only 100cc of engine to push you along,a VICTA has about 160cc and you have to push it along, the karts were doing about 90 to 100 k.p.h. and only 50 mm between your bum and the ground .
Some really impressive driving from these quick little machines and a lot of sedan drivers were very envious of the way the kart drivers threw their machines around the circuit.
It was a very happy BRIAN BRITTON who took out first place with DAVID RAW second and CHRIS MAGNAL third.
SERIES SEDANS.
He might be from NOWRA, he might be an old dog , but he hasnt forgotten how to drive to the limit and after some brilliant driving throughout the day in this hotly contested division it was CARL YENNE who won first place with MICHEAL ROSEVEAR in second and WOOLONGONGS  one and only LEON SCOTT in third.
UNDER 1600 SEDANS.
Quick and nimble and not a JACK amongst them but DENNIS RICHARDSON was the quickest of them all on the day and he took out first place with STEVE RAWLINGS second  and a very good drive by JOHN MEYER won him third place.
SUPER PRODUCTION SEDANS.
The pride of NAROOMA  JEFF MURPHY in his rotary powered machine was in the thick of the action all day battling the big v8s and the v6s as everybody wanted to win but in the final it was IAN BALDY GRIFFITH  who bolted to the front and won the race with JEFF MURPHY a close second and BRAD STEVENS third, BRAD has not raced for many years or should i say many many many years but as the night showed he has not lost the skill in driving a race car.
STREET STOCKS.
A very hotly contested division and the racing was fast and furious and when something goes wrong it is all over quickly as KEN ARMITAGE found out when he rolled his sedan after clipping the tyre wall between turn one and two , KEN was alright but the car looked a bit sad. A fter many heats of action it was NATHAN JOHNSTON  who led the way in the final and didnt put a foot wrong all the way to the finish and won first trophy withDAVID VANDERVORDON in second and JASON STEWART third.
SUPER MODIFIEDS
It takes a lot of work to keep these machines going and all the crews must have been working overtime as all of the SUPERMODIFIEDS were quick but there can only be one winner and that was STEVE HAINES in U.S.A.2 followed by TIM HAINES in 19 and third was no 10 PETER GREEN.
JUNIOR HOTSHOTS.
JOSH TYRELL was first on the day with NAT WHITE second and DANNY DOLEZAL third.
LADIES
HELEN MCDERMOTT dominated the small field of ladies and won on the day with LISA WILLIAMS second and CHAKINTA JONES third.
All in all it was a great meeting and hopefully at the next meeting in JUNE the bikes will be in action on the moto x track and the flat track.
